Genre: Helme suggests that Instructive Rambles Extended and the earlier Instructive Rambles (BTW1081) combine 'her rambles among the real objects of curiosity in the metropolis' with 'her excursions in the regions of fiction' (ii). While metropolitan tourism frames the fiction, both texts subordinate travel matter to historical dialogues and tales told by the characters.
