  3. The anonymous translator (i.e. Louisa Margaret Drummond-Hay) mentions sourcing drawings for the plates from Sir Gore Ouselely, first baronet (1770–1844; ODNB), via a mutual friend. Ouseley drew up the Treaty of Gulistan (24 October 1813) and had met the Russian negotiator for that treaty and co-author of the present text, Wilhelm von Freygang, at Tehran in 1812.
